How to maintain your fishing clothes?

Many of you ask us about "how to maintain your waders and rain jacket". ?

First of all, rinse your waders regularly, and every time, if you go into salt water. Use the neoprene mat to avoid puncturing your booties and store your clothes in a dry and ventilated place. Your waders or fishing jacket should be cleaned once or twice a year depending on its use. When you feel like your waders or rain jacket is still wet, it's time to waterproof your clothes. Here is one of our tested and approved solutions!

First, you need to clean your products (waders and rain jackets) to remove the dirt that often clogs the pores of the breathable membranes before waterproofing your items.

👉 F or washing his fishing waders and rain jacket:

You can either use a non-aggressive liquid detergent and do a quick wash on "delicate cycle."

Or we advise you to use Nikwax Tech Wash (300 ml). This is a detergent-free, biodegradable liquid soap. It removes dirt and detergent residue while maintaining the waterproof properties. Machine wash clothing or outdoor items with Tech Wash before treating them with a waterproofing product from the Nikwax.

1. This dip cleaner is used to clean waterproof fishing gear. It revitalizes breathability and water repellency while keeping it safe. This product is a non-detergent detergent that can be used regularly to clean clothing and equipment without damaging the durable water repellent treatment. Use this product in place of conventional detergents or cleaners.
2. Put your Waders or rain fishing jacket in the washing machine.
3. Pour Nikwax Tech Wash into the laundry tub.
4. Choose a low temperature wash cycle for the machine. You can also use Nikwax easily by hand.
5. Drain and dry.

👉 F or machine washing:

To wash and re-waterproof your fishing clothes such as waders and rain jackets, you can put them in the washing machine, with a maximum of 2 clothes in your drum. Then choose a synthetic cycle at 30° with a slow spin.

👉 Hand wash warm water:

1. Use gloves (To avoid waterproofing your hands!).
2. Dip the clean garment in 6L of warm water in a basin or sink.
3. Stir and leave on for 5-10 minutes then stir again.
4. Rinse thoroughly with cold water.
5. Air dry.
6. For the storage and maintenance of waders or fishing jackets, prefer a hanger.
